Berry farm, anniversary, Big Sur, and more...

Well the past couple weeks have been fun and busy! We have tried filling our days with cool things to do before we leave CA this coming weekend. I made jam with Denise and Bronwyn, lots of shopping, going to the drive-in movies again, dinner with our good friends Katie and Il, SLO farmer's market, trip to the berry farm, watching the Bachelorette faithfully, swimming at the Meek's pool, Morro Bay aquarium and taffy, celebrating our anniversary, and day trip to Mission San Antonio and Big Sur. Here are some pics...

Jam making...
Making jam... thanks gals! Now I am stocked for the year!

Avila Valley Barn...
Avila Valley Barn... where you can feed the animals, buy local produce, pick lots of berries, and go on a tractor ride. Such a neat place.

Chloe feeding the llamas. She loved it.

Ghetto phone pic from the tractor ride...

Morro Bay...
Morro Bay Aquarium... Chloe loved feeding fish to the seals.

Chloe's first REAL saltwater taffy experience. She was quite obsessed.

Six year Anniversary...
Okay, so our actual anniversary was almost two months ago, but we didn't have a good time to celebrate it... until Danny surprised me yesterday with special plans. He took me to a nice Italian restaurant, and then we drove up to San Simeon to watch the sunset on the beach. (Thanks Jake and Bronwyn for all the effort you went through to help him plan such a special night!)

 Watching the sunset.

This was the set up waiting for us... a blanket, jacket, and Uggs were also waiting for us as we walked down on the beach. Sadly, I forgot to get a pic of the pretty setup before we dug into the dessert and grape juice. Oh, and candles, lanterns, and rose petals. Ya, it was perfect and I pretty much think my husband is the coolest.

Mission San Antonio...
We went with Jake and Bronwyn to this mission, and although the museum was closed, it was still fun to walk around.

Now this one is for my mom... Mom, a giant soup pot that I know you would appreciate.

 Big Sur...
After the mission, we went on a gorgeous drive through the national forest to Big Sur. The views were incredible.

Bronwyn and Dillan. This is where we stopped for a delicious lunch.

We walked around to see the pretty views. Afterward, we drove to Cambria to stop at an amazing French bakery to get some dessert. Heaven!

Thanks guys for such a fun day! Even listening to the little girls screaming and crying the whole car ride home was hilarious.

Summer vacation is the best...

All I can say is that having Danny home and on break has been pretty much the best thing ever. I will be so sad when he has to start again next semester. The last couple weeks have been a blast. Josh, Jenna, and Freddie came into town and it was so fun hanging out with them. While they were here we went to the beach, the drive-in movies, Jake's graduation party, Fred's birthday party, girls shopping day, swimming at the Meek's pool, and played games. That week went by way too quickly! We miss you guys already. Here are the pics captured from the week...

The brothers and their little babes.

Chloe and her daddy at the pool.

Dillan and Chloe floating around.

Chloe and me laying out at the beach (and btw, I had to dig a hole in the sand for my belly so I could lay comfortably... yes, I am definitely showing now).

Chloe and Dillan playing in the sand.

Drive-in movies!

We missed you, Carley!

Getting ready for the first movie to start! It was Madagascar 3, and Chloe loved it! She just pointed at the animals on screen the entire time. Then she fell asleep for the second movie (MIB 3), so we got to cuddle with her the whole time... I was in heaven!

Sunday walk around the lake.

Last week we went to Montana de Oro for a beach nature walk. It was a beautiful day, and always a blast hanging out with Jake, Bronwyn, and Dillan. Here are the pics:

Chloe was a little unsure about the starfish.

Danny and Jake with their baby girls.

Such pretty views!

And lastly, Denise got matching dresses for Dillan and Chloe! They wore them to church, and they looked darling. These kids have the best grandma ever!

Catch up

Ya, it's been a while. Well, first things first...

We are pregnant with Baby #2! And... it's a girl!!! We are so excited for Chloe to have a sister! It will be fun to have two little girls! She is due to come November 12th. We can't wait!

Now to playing catch up... the past few months I haven't been feeling too well, but now that I'm not sick anymore I actually have the energy and motivation to blog again. This is what we've been up to lately...

Stomping on our coffee table... one of her favorite things to do.

Another favorite of hers... putting on Mama's shoes.

 Girls day shopping in Scottsdale.

Eating dinner and making a complete mess. Of course bath time follows immediately after.

TEXAS: I went to Austin, TX to visit my sister and her family. She and I are both pregnant, due 2 weeks apart! It was so fun to be together... We ate lots of good food, went maternity shopping, went to Zilker park, and talked a lot. I love my sis.

Here I am 14 weeks, and she is 16 weeks. Oh, and she is having another boy! (Her 3rd!)

I took Chloe for a walk in the forest behind their house. She loved running on her own, and just wanted to pick up rocks the whole time.

LAKE PLEASANT: Danny finished his first year of medical school! And he totally rocked it. I am so proud of him!!! And I am so excited to have him take a break and be home with Chloe and me for the next couple months. Last week we went with some friends to Lake Pleasant about 40 minutes north of Phoenix. It was very fun to just relax and swim. Thanks Dan and Tish for organizing such a fun day!

Chloe loved swimming with her daddy.

WEEKEND GETAWAY: Last weekend Danny and I went to San Diego for three days... by ourselves! Danny's mom watched Chloe. It was fun to sleep in, and just be irresponsible for a couple days. We sure missed Chloe, though. Jake, Bronwyn, and Dillan met us down there and it was fun having them there. We went to the beach a couple times, swam at the Shumway's pool and spa, watched a movie in their sweet theater room (d-box seats!!), and we got to sit in on one of Bob's surgeries... a tummy tuck. It was seriously one of the coolest things to watch. Thank you, Mom, for watching Chloe and taking such good care of her! I'm pretty sure she likes you more than both Danny and me. Here are just a few pics from our trip.

 Del Mar Beach

 Jake, Bronwyn, & Dillan

SAN LUIS OBISPO: After San Diego, we drove up to Danny's parents house, where we will be for the next few weeks. It's been so relaxing and fun to be with the family, and for Chloe to have her Grandma to play with her, read to her, and spoil her. Today we went to the beach to let Chloe run around. She loved it!

 Morro Bay

And this sums up some of Chloe's favorite things to do at Grandma's (thank you Meeks for letting us swim at your pool!). She is in heaven.

Easter, our bald baby, and sewing!

Part 1: Easter! The Saturday before Easter, Danny's school put on an Easter egg hunt for kids, so I went with some friends to have some fun. They had food and activities like cookie decorating, pictures with the Easter bunny, face painting, and a bounce house. Then there was the hunt. The horn sounded, and it was like the Hunger games. Kids running for their lives to get as many eggs as possible. Sadly for Chloe, she didn't get any because she was too slow. It was actually pretty funny. Then on actual Easter we just went to church then got together with some friends for an Easter feast!

Easter Sunday before church

Part 2: Our bald baby. Chloe is growing hair... slowly but surely! Let's just say every day I pray that she will start growing some hair! I mean, it's just not fair that all her other friends her age have braids and pig tails... and Chloe has... headbands. Come on hair, please grow so her earrings aren't the only thing identifying her as a girl!

Part 3: Sewing! Okay yes, this may seem a little vain... but a few people have asked me to post pics of the skirts I've made recently. So, I had D take some pics of me... and yes, it felt awkward modeling my clothes and posing by myself, but oh well, here are the pics:

Top left: This wool skirt I didn't technically make, but I altered and modified it quite a bit. My mother-in-law gave it to me from her closet. She had it years ago (semi-vintage!), and I thought the fabric was way cute and that I could totally salvage it. It is a perfect winter skirt. Thanks, Mom!

Top right: This is one of the first skirts I ever made, with lots of help from my mother-in-law. It has pockets, pleats, and an invisible side zipper. Very comfy.

Bottom left: I made this in October, and it's still my favorite skirt. I love polka dots. I made up the pattern myself, and it ended up turning out pretty good.

Bottom right: I just made this one a few days ago, replicating the polka dot one. Love it! I am prepared for the summer heat now.

That is pretty much all that's going on here! We are doing great, and just excited for Danny's finals to be over in a few weeks. Chloe and I are going to Austin, TX to visit my sister, Liz, for the week of Danny's finals... it will be a good time to get away because he will be so busy studying. I am so excited to see my sis and her family!
